What we promise

Every figure has a source and a date checked, or it's left blank.
We explain the rules and link the official pages for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. We never say an appliance or fuel is allowed in your area: check with your council and the Defra exempt-appliance list.
Installation is a job for a HETAS-registered installer (or building control sign-off). We explain what they check, never how to do it.
No health or medical claims about wood smoke, air quality or warmth, either way. On air quality we link official guidance only. See our policy on air quality.
We don't test products. Comparisons are based on makers' specifications, with a notice saying so.
No prices of our own: cost calculators use the prices you enter.
